The TIA reported On September 24, 2024 that the House of Representatives passed the CTPAT Pilot Program Act of 2023. It will now be forward to President Biden to be signed into law.

The passage of this Act is a significant win for third-party logistics providers as it mandates that the Department of Homeland Security include them as participants in a five-year pilot program.

The Custom Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) is a volunteer program run by U.S. Customs & Border Protection. Their purpose and aim is to infiltrate the help of private companies to identify security gaps that affect port safety, to protect the supply chain, and to combat terrorism.

The inclusion of the third-party logistics providers in this five-year pilot program will not only enhance their role in addressing supply chain vulnerabilities, but also promote participation in securing supply chain safety measures and best practices.

The TIA, an advocate for HG Logistics LLC and all the other third-party logistics companies who are members of their association, remains committed to ensuring the implementation of this pilot program. Together we fight for a stronger, secure supply chain.
