On Friday, January 17, 2025, Duke Heller, HG Logistics LLC Director of Operations, presented me my 30 Year Anniversary Award. Thirty years ago, I remember being petrified as I looked to reenter the work force after taking ten years off to care for my growing family. I started with Hill and Griffith as a part-time office clerk. Everyone immediately put me at ease as they all patiently helped me adjust to learning new computer systems and office procedures. Within one year, I worked my way up to the position of Payroll Specialist which I held for 11 1/2 years.

In late 2006, Hill and Griffith decided to expand by opening their own brokerage firm called HG Logistics LLC. I offered to help the new company by assisting with billing and doing accounts payables and receivables. I eventually transitioned over to just working for HG Logistics as an Accounting Administrator. This position afforded me the opportunity to gain experience and develop so many new skills as well as challenged me to accomplish things I didn’t think I was capable of doing.

I truly believe this job was a blessing from the very beginning and is still a blessing to this day. I love working here, and I love my coworkers. I am so thankful that thirty years ago Hill and Griffith took a chance, hired me, and gave me the opportunity to develop both personally and professionally.
