Question for the New Year: Chopped Liver or Steak?

My three year old granddaughter is the inspiration for a lot of my writing. I like to record her statements so I can reflect back on them in the years to come. Sometimes I even choose my blog as a place to document them, which is exactly what I am doing today.

A few weekends ago, she spent the night at my house. We played all day and after dinner, I gave her a bath. We got our pajamas on and then got all cozy on the couch to watch television and eat UDF Cookies and Cream ice cream (our favorite). Before I continue with my story, you need to know something about my husband, Dave. He is a sports fanatic. He loves them all–football, baseball, basketball, tennis, golf, and even bowling. On the evening Lyla slept over, it was the last night for regular college football. He had two televisions on in our living room watching two different games at the same time.

Well, Lyla was not much interested in college football. She wanted to watch her movie. She asked grandpa, “Can I please watch Aladdin?” He proceeded to explain to her the importance of these two football games and how he could not part with missing one minute of either of these games. As he offered her his explanation, I was thinking to myself, “Yeah, Dave, she is going to understand all that mumble jumble.” But what came out of her mouth next tells me she understood perfectly. She looked right at Dave and said, “Grandpa, what do you think we are–chopped liver?”

Needless to say, we both roared with laughter. Lyla, on the other hand, did not see what was so funny. She was second rate to a football game and she did not much like it. I don’t know where she heard that saying, but I am sure she heard it from someone. What amazed me is that she knew what in meant, and she used it in the proper context.

Let’s face it. None of us like to be treated like we are second best, that we are not important. We don’t want to be looked upon as chopped liver, but we would whether be viewed as a prized piece of prime rib.

My granddaughter’s statement that evening reminded me of this and of the importance of how we treat others. It was something definitely to reflect on at the start of the New Year. Sometimes we get sidetracked with our own goals and busyness that we lose track of what is really important. It is always good to have someone jolt us back in line, even if it has to come from a three year old.

I am not just talking about properly aligning our priorities in our personal life but also in our business and professional endeavors as well. At HG Logistics LLC, a third party logistics company and freight transportation broker located in Cincinnati, Ohio, our goal has always been to put the customer first. Never would we want to make them feel like chopped liver.

Instead we strive to meet our customers’ goals and objectives when it comes to shipping their products. We strive to provide the best carriers, the best rates, the best follow through, and the best on-time delivery. We strive to treat our customers to the best service we can provide. This is not a New Year’s Resolution for HG Logistics LLC. It has been our objective from the word go, and it will continue to be a lifelong commitment to our customers.

I have never tried chopped liver. I did not even know what it looked like until I “Googled” images of it. I must admit it does not look very appealing. Never would HG Logistics want our customers to go away feeling like they just bit into a disgustingly, awful tasting glob of mush. We prefer our services be compared to a delectable, savory, perfectly cooked, high quality steak.

At HG Logistics LLC, you are going to get steak rated service, not a chopped liver shortcut version. So if you want a bite of a great transportation service provider, contact HG Logistics LLC at 877-574-4744.
